Grab rails across Melbourne, fitted following AS 1428.1-2021

GrabSafe arranges grab rail installation in bathrooms, showers, toilets and around the home across Melbourne, within 50 km of the CBD. Every install is carried out by our insured, police-checked partner installer. Private jobs or funded through NDIS, My Aged Care, SWEP, TAC, WorkSafe or DVA.

GrabSafe is a Melbourne grab-rail service. Installations arranged through GrabSafe are carried out by our independent partner installer: a local business holding its own ABN, public liability insurance, police check and WWCC. Your install contract, invoice and warranty are with the installer.

Why falls matter

About a third of people aged 65 and over have at least one fall a year, and around half of those falls happen at home. The Victorian Government's Better Health Channel advises: "Install grab rails in the bathroom (towel rails are not usually strong enough to use as grab rails)." Grab rails are one of the cheapest, fastest home modifications to reduce the risk of a fall, and one of the few that most Australian funders will approve quickly.

Why GrabSafe

  • Paperwork checked before we refer. We don't put a job to an installer who can't show current public liability insurance, a police check, a WWCC and their own ABN. What we ask for is set out on our credentials page.
  • Fitted following AS 1428.1-2021. Rails are positioned with reference to the standard's diameters, clearances, heights and load specs, or to your OT's exact scope.
  • Funded or private. NDIS (plan- and self-managed), My Aged Care (CHSP, HCP, Support at Home), SWEP, TAC, WorkSafe Victoria, DVA. Funded jobs are priced to your OT's scope of works, with any extra cost flagged before work starts.
  • Honest pricing. Indicative ranges on our pricing page, and a fixed written quote from the installer before any work starts.

How it works

  1. Email us. Tell us what you need, where you are, and how it's being paid for. Photos of the spot help a lot.
  2. We pass it to our partner installer. They review the job and prepare a written quote, usually within 1-2 business days.
  3. You get a fixed written quote. Your contract, invoice and warranty are with the installer. Nothing starts until you approve the quote.
  4. Install and sign-off. The installer fixes the rails into solid structure, checks them before leaving, and confirms the job is complete.
